I absolutely love working at Gymboree Play & Music!

I feel so special to get to be a part of little ones’ early lives; watching them grow, learn new skills and hit new milestones is such a precious thing that I get to share with the families that come to Gymboree.

Getting to be involved in their development is such an amazing experience, from bonding with the children and grownups, to watching their personalities grow and blossom. Each day so many things amaze me, I am constantly laughing and beaming with joy at the sweet, cheeky, mischievous and curious characters that I see!

I have a BA Hons in Professional Musicianship – Song writing and love being able to bring all my Musical and Performance knowledge to my day-to-day life at Gymbo! Outside of Gymbo I run my own Music Business as a Professional Singer, Musician and Manager (I play Guitar, Ukulele, Bass and Basic Piano too!)

Some personal highlights, performing arts wise, have to be performing at Glastonbury, The Edinburgh Fringe, The National Theatre and Latitude!

I used to Teach Music at a Primary School to Reception, Year 3 and Year 4 classes, and also taught at a Performing Arts School for 4-6yrs, but Early Years is definitely where my true passion lies!

I love coming to work, for me it’s exciting when Monday morning comes around, and I’m very lucky to have such an amazing team to work with too!

I am overjoyed to join the Gymboree team!! Coming from a theatre background running around and being a little silly is just what I'm used to. I love to sing and is very fond of a kitchen disco at home. I studied Acting at university a d cofounded my own theatre company - UpsideUp who specialise in new plays and running workshops with children in school. I am also in the incredibly long process of writing my first musical Nikola's Cloud.
Seeing children develop through the classes is such a joy! Each week makes such an impact on our gymboree babies as they learn, explore and interact with the world around them. It has also been a pleasure spending time with all the grown ups who enter our doors, sharing advice, anecdotes and love for their children all the other parents and carers.

Directions
Classes are held at:-
The Annex
38 Eastfield
Westbury on Trym
BS9 4BE

You can access Eastfield from either Eastfield Road or Priory Ave/Eastfield Terrace.
Once you are on Eastfield, find the RAFA club located at number 38. It is a large building with a sign in front so you shouldn’t have too much trouble finding it. Go down the small lane to the side of the RAFA club signposted to the car park – this is also the car park for Gymboree Play & Music. We are located in a separate building behind the main club.

If you are driving, please take care on the short lane leading to our car park. This is not a busy lane but it is narrow and therefore you need to be prepared to give way to oncoming vehicles. Do also note that pedestrians will be using this lane and small children will be in the area, so do take extra care.

Car Parking
All our members are welcome to use the RAFA car park located behind the club.
Occasionally, the club host events and the car park can get full. If this is the case, there is plenty of on street parking available on Eastfield and the surrounding roads.

Gymboree has been very instrumental with our children, in relation to their progressive development in growing up. Our eldest has recently left for schooling, and his younger sister remains to enjoy the classes that are being offered.
Our daughter continues to thrive, and has great fun during the ‘play and learn’ themed activities, whilst further widening her imagination. Thank you to all staff!

My daughter loved the runners class and did not stop grinning the whole way through! Polly ran our class and she was brilliant.

Absolutely fantastic for babies and toddlers; Gymborre has been a staple of my parental leave and has had such a positive impact on our child, really helping develop his movement and how he interacts with other babies (as well as helping me and my wife, as first time parents learn how to engage with our child).

The staff leading the classes are fantastic; I'm sure Polly and Suzie are ranked high above us in our sons favourite adults.

My daughter (2years old) is VERY shy but she has been enjoying going to Gymboree. Abby, Polly and Susie are all friendly and very understanding not only about my daughter but also about my challenge.

Really happy with Gymboree - we attend one class and one open gym session a week and our son really enjoys it. The play area is really helping him learn skills like how to climb. The teachers are very friendly and engaging with the kids.

Both of my children (3.5 years and 11 months) go to Gymboree Play & Music and love it. My toddler goes to their drop-off Lego class which she raves about. It's very creative, working not only on Lego skills but also painting, drawing etc. My infant son loves his Gymboree Play & Music Crawlers class - particularly loves crawling all over their props, through the tunnels, etc. Great way to get the infant crawling over obstacles! Gymboree Play & Music is part of our weekly schedule for both kids and we look forward to participating every week. Invaluable!

Gymboree Play & Music was a lovely and positive experience for my son Leo. We started when he was 9 months and he is now 3 years old, I wish we had started sooner.
He loves the songs (which is part of our daily singing at home), the freedom to explore and he was happy there. He looks forward to class every week and once class is over he will tell everyone about Gymbo and what he did.
For me, I liked that it taught him how to get down safely from a height, how to learn to use his body, and touching on different topics every 2 weeks. It gave me confidence in other environments to trust that he has the ability that he learned from Gymboree Play & Music and to trust him.

I’ve been taking both my newborn and toddler to Gymboree Play & Music for a couple of months now and both boys are really loving the classes and open gym sessions. It’s a great way to meet other mums, entertain toddlers at witching hour(!) and get ideas for sensory play with babies. Sophie and Cat are fantastic and have so much energy and loads of different ideas for the classes, plus make sure the activities it’s help children meet their development milestones as well. Highly recommend this if you’re thinking about joining!! Thanks so much Sophie, Cat and the wider team :-)
