Gymboree Play & Music Cheam
Gymboree Play & Music Cheam is run by the lovely Karen and her team. They’re based in Cheam Sports Club, just off Peaches Close, near the station. They cover a large area around and including Cheam, up to Poulter Park and Worcester Park, down to Kingswood and Tadworth, west to Epsom and Chessington, and east to Carshalton and Woodmansterne, and everywhere in between! Gymboree Play & Music Cheam offer sensory classes for babies, as well as our famous Play & Learn classes for little ones who are on the move. Karen
Franchisee
Karen started teaching at Cheam in 2007, eventually going on to buy the franchise in 2013. She is a mum of two and started her Gymboree Play & Music journey when her daughter was just 3, her daughter is now a teenager and is part of the Gymboree Play & Music Cheam Team!
Karen loves every part of Gymboree Play & Music, especially sharing in the development of so many little ones. She loves getting to know her members on a more personal level and is always on hand to help wherever she can.

Kamini
Head Teacher
Kamini joined the Gymboree Cheam team in 2013 and was the first teacher that Karen recruited when she bought the franchise! Kamini teaches on Mondays and Wednesdays.
She is a busy mum of two boys and is also trained in Music Therapy which she teaches to terminally ill children at Great Ormand Street Hospital once a week.

Hayley
Teacher
Hayley joined the team after bringing her first son to Gymboree Classes in December 2019. She loved the classes so much she asked if there were any teaching vacancies available, after a short interview Karen realised she would be a perfect fit for the team!
Hayley is now the proud mum of two boys and teaches classes on Thursdays and Fridays.

Georgia
Admin
Georgia, Karen's daughter, was with Karen at the very beginning of their family Gymboree journey, Karen took Georgia to Gymboree classes when was just 2! Until recently Georgia was part of the onsite team, welcoming members on the desk and taking care of all things admin. She is now working in a Beauty Salon whilst finishing her Beauty Therapy course but continues to support Karen behind the scenes with admin and occasional social media updates.

Great class my son has so much fun, each week there is a different theme and different toys or instruments to play with. Has really helped my sons confidence especially with lock down and being unable to mix. Karen and Hayley are amazing great with the children and make the classes super exciting.

My son has been attending weekly sessions at Cheam Gymboree for over a year now and I can’t give enough compliment to the Cheam team.
Sessions are well organised and staff are amazing. Defiantly one of the best baby groups we have have attended so far.

My daughter and I have been going to gymboree since my daughter was about 3 months old. It was recommended by a friend who raved about the class content and spoke very warmly and fondly of Karen and the team, I have to say I have found the same! It is a fantastic blend of activities supporting social and motor skills. We love the class my daughter (now 17 months) gets excited in the car park knowing she is going to gymboree.

Both of my children (3.5 years and 11 months) go to Gymboree Play & Music and love it. My toddler goes to their drop-off Lego class which she raves about. It's very creative, working not only on Lego skills but also painting, drawing etc. My infant son loves his Gymboree Play & Music Crawlers class - particularly loves crawling all over their props, through the tunnels, etc. Great way to get the infant crawling over obstacles! Gymboree Play & Music is part of our weekly schedule for both kids and we look forward to participating every week. Invaluable!
Gymboree Play & Music was a lovely and positive experience for my son Leo. We started when he was 9 months and he is now 3 years old, I wish we had started sooner.
He loves the songs (which is part of our daily singing at home), the freedom to explore and he was happy there. He looks forward to class every week and once class is over he will tell everyone about Gymbo and what he did.
For me, I liked that it taught him how to get down safely from a height, how to learn to use his body, and touching on different topics every 2 weeks. It gave me confidence in other environments to trust that he has the ability that he learned from Gymboree Play & Music and to trust him.
I’ve been taking both my newborn and toddler to Gymboree Play & Music for a couple of months now and both boys are really loving the classes and open gym sessions. It’s a great way to meet other mums, entertain toddlers at witching hour(!) and get ideas for sensory play with babies. Sophie and Cat are fantastic and have so much energy and loads of different ideas for the classes, plus make sure the activities it’s help children meet their development milestones as well. Highly recommend this if you’re thinking about joining!! Thanks so much Sophie, Cat and the wider team :-)
