Gymboree Play & Music Tunbridge Wells
Gymboree Play & Music Tunbridge Wells is run by the lovely Cat, Shona, and Rachel. They’re based downstairs in the Royal Victoria Place shopping centre near Tunbridge Wells West station, near the food court. They cover a large area around and including Tunbridge Wells, up to Shipbourne, down to Castle Hill and Stonegate, West to Crowborough, Blackham, and Charcott, and East to Ticehurst and Paddock Wood, and everywhere in between! They offer sensory classes for babies and baby massage courses, as well as our famous Play & Learn classes for little ones who are on the move. Membership
Gymboree Play & Music’s classes are offered as a membership, where members are booked in for a developmentally-appropriate teacher-led class every week. Classes are 45-minute-long sessions with age specific activities, singing, exploring and ooodles of bubble fun!
Members can also enjoy unlimited access to Open Gym sessions throughout the week, spaces permitting. Members also benefit from a flexible make up class policy so they don’t miss out on any classes! Membership fees are paid monthly by direct debit.

Cat
Centre Manager
Cat Joined the Gymboree Play & Music Tunbridge Wells team as a Teacher in 2019
Originally, she trained as a soprano singer where she studied Music at a University of London. She obtained her Batchelor of Music degree whilst also being a choral scholar at the Old Royal Naval College Choir in Greenwich. She now teaches private Piano and Singing lessons during school term times and has previously been a Music Specialist teacher at a Nursery chain in London.
Since becoming a team member for Gymboree Play and Music Tunbridge Wells, Cat is very excited to help grow the business and strives to create great relationships with our members.
One day she hopes to own her own Gymboree... or many around the UK!

Sophie
Teacher
Sophie joined the Gymboree Play & Music Tunbridge Wells team as a teacher in 2021 and is thrilled to be part of the Gymboree family.
Originally trained in musical theatre, Sophie has appeared in numerous plays and musicals with professional credits in London and Cornwall. Having worked as a performing arts teacher since the age of 17, she discovered a particular passion for early years development. Sophie has also worked in educational settings teaching and supporting children of all ages.
Sophie has fallen in love with Gymboree and looks forward to seeing where her Gymbo journey takes her!

Shona
Teacher
Shona has been an avid Gymboree Play and Music member for the last 3 years with her children, and her love of all things Gymbo has extended to working with the team at Tunbridge Wells.
With a background in art and design, and customer service, along with attending multiple hypnobirthing and baby courses, she is really keen to bring a creative air to classes.
As a mum herself, Shona knows the importance of building strong social skills in early years. She loves to make our families smile and feel welcome with every visit to Gymbo Twells!

My daughter LOVES attending the baby classes with Cat and she loves gymbo and Gymboree. Even when she’s been a little grumpy, tired or teething as soon as she knows where we are going she perks up and is her very happy self at the classes. We look forward to the classes every week knowing she will love every second. She recognises and ‘dances’ along to the songs and genuinely loves every activity and song. Being my first baby, I’ve also learned so much from Cat the team about her development and gained plenty of inspiration for games and activities to do at home. Thank you so much team, we love you!

I’ve been taking both my newborn and toddler to Gymboree for a couple of months now and both boys are really loving the classes and open gym sessions. It’s a great way to meet other mums, entertain toddlers at witching hour(!) and get ideas for sensory play with babies. Sophie and Cat are fantastic and have so much energy and loads of different ideas for the classes, plus make sure the activities it’s help children meet their development milestones as well. Highly recommend this if you’re thinking about joining!! Thanks so much Sophie, Cat and the wider team :-)

Aila, my grandaughter, and I go to the Gymboree classes regularly and we've also come to several special events inlcuding GymboFest in August. Aila absolutely loves Gymbo and the classes and its great to see how happy she is when shes there. I love how the classes help to teach them in a gentle way while they are playing. We've been coming along since Aila was a baby and she is now nearly 2. A special big thanks to Cat, Sophie and Shona who run the classes and are just brilliant.

I attend Tunbridge Wells Gymboree and it has been amazing, the team there are so helpful and welcoming and made me feel at ease straight away. The activities are always varied and there is something for everyone. I also like that dads are welcome and not made to feel out of place so they can come along and have some baby time on the weekend. The classes are also a good size particularly for babies so they have a nice calm environment to enjoy.
We have been attending for about 3 weeks now and have done classes and the gym and this morning bubba rolled over and back again! I would highly recommend these classes.

Both of my children (3.5 years and 11 months) go to Gymboree Play & Music and love it. My toddler goes to their drop-off Lego class which she raves about. It's very creative, working not only on Lego skills but also painting, drawing etc. My infant son loves his Gymboree Play & Music Crawlers class - particularly loves crawling all over their props, through the tunnels, etc. Great way to get the infant crawling over obstacles! Gymboree Play & Music is part of our weekly schedule for both kids and we look forward to participating every week. Invaluable!
Gymboree Play & Music was a lovely and positive experience for my son Leo. We started when he was 9 months and he is now 3 years old, I wish we had started sooner.
He loves the songs (which is part of our daily singing at home), the freedom to explore and he was happy there. He looks forward to class every week and once class is over he will tell everyone about Gymbo and what he did.
For me, I liked that it taught him how to get down safely from a height, how to learn to use his body, and touching on different topics every 2 weeks. It gave me confidence in other environments to trust that he has the ability that he learned from Gymboree Play & Music and to trust him.
