    Benefits graphic

We are often asked why our classes are special. Parents want to know how they differ from other play classes.  They want to know all about the benefits of our equipment!

Gymboree Play & Music classes utilise a unique and impressive combination of music, movement, props, and imaginary play, but it’s our custom-designed and patented equipment, which is unique to us, that creates a fun and magical world where children learn, thrive and most importantly have fun.  This equipment has evolved over the years and you’ll see it in all its forms in Gymboree Play & Music centres around the world.

This proprietary equipment was designed by Jay Beckwith, an internationally respected playground designer with more than 40 years of experience. He created every structure with the needs of children in mind. Our play environments are designed to deliver the high-quality standard parents expect for their children.  It’s this equipment which delivers a unique experience for our members with social, cognitive, and physical benefits for your little ones built in.

In the coming days we’re going to start a series about the benefits of our unique equipment.  Each day we’ll focus on a different piece and show you what’s so special about it, and how it benefits your child during play.

We’ll cover all the familiar Gymboree Play & Music apparatus:

    • Airlog
    • Cushion
    • Handle Ball
    • Short Slide
    • Rainbow Barrel
    • Wavy Slide
    • Slide ‘n’ Climb
    • Tubee

For those of you who are already members, you’ll recognise most of these, and no doubt you and your little ones have a favourite!

Unfortunately more of our centres are moving into Tier 4 from tomorrow, 31st December 2020, so will be closed for now.  This includes our centres in England and Scotland.

The only Gymboree Play & Music centre in the UK still in Tier 3 is Gymboree Play & Music Bristol and they are open!  But we do advise you to check with them before attending your classes in the coming weeks in case the situation changes.

  • Give the Gift of Play and Support Local

    18. November 2020
give the gift of play and support local with our gift vouchers

With Christmas fast approaching and uncertainty all around, now is the time to give the gift of play and support local with Gymboree Play & Music gift vouchers.

Although Gymboree Play & Music is proud to be part of a global brand with a 44 year history, all our centres are small businesses in their own right owned by families like yours.  Like many businesses they’ve been closed for about half pic of baby and bubblesof this year with very limited income.  We’ve all been overwhelmed by the love and support we’ve felt from our members and fellow small businesses in our communities, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything you’ve done.  We’ve been particularly thrilled to see so many of you back in class in your droves (when rules allow)!

Now with some light at the end of the tunnel we’re hopeful 2021 will bring better times, where we can move on from lockdowns, new normals, and one way systems!

In the meantime, for this Christmas, why not give the gift of play and support local all at the same time, with our gift vouchers.  They’re valid for 12 months and can be redeemed at any of our centres across the UK against classes and merchandise.  They make the perfect gift for a new parent, pre-school children, or an existing Gymboree Play & Music member.

All our teams across the UK really appreciate you supporting them during these unprecedented times, and buying our gift vouchers is one small way you can help.

    Thank you 🙏🏼

  • We’re staying at home

    5. November 2020

    latest Covid-19 update graphic

Gymboree Play & Music are staying at home 🏡 this lockdown (in England) 👨👧👦👩👧👦👨👩👧👦👨👦👦

There has been much speculation as to whether we can continue to operate our classes throughout this second ‘lockdown’, if we could fall into the Government Guidelines for either ‘support groups’ or ‘supervised activities for children.

Whilst we definitely support the families that come along to our classes, fundamentally we are not a ‘support group’.  Although we do provide ‘supervised activities for children’, this is not so parents and carers can go to work. We feel these are the intentions of the guidance and therefore we don’t feel we fit in the exemptions.

    pic of girl cuddling Gymbo

The news that specific ‘support groups’ and ‘supervised activities for children’ are able to remain open is brilliant for the families who rely on such services. We are so happy to know that families will still be able to access them 🙏 .

As business owners this is our livelihoods and we are completely devastated to close our doors again, we ask you to please continue to support your local centre in anyway that you can throughout this ‘lockdown’.

We will remain closed until the end of ‘lockdown‘ on 2nd December. We would love nothing more than to still be running our COVID-secure classes and seeing you, our Gymboree Play & Music families, but the instruction is to ‘stay home’ 🏡🌸, and the safety of you, your little ones and our team will always come first.

As always thank you so much for all your amazing support. Stay safe everyone & hip hip hooray for another Gymboree day just 4 weeks away ✨😌

  • Closed for 4 weeks

    2. November 2020
    latest Covid-19 update graphic

Dear Gymboree Play & Music families,

Further to Boris’s latest announcement it’s with a heavy heart we must once again temporarily close our doors in England. Having you and your little ones return to our classes has been truly wonderful and we already can’t wait to welcome you back soon

💗 From this Thursday 5th November in compliance with the latest Government Guidelines all our centres will be temporarily closed for 4 weeks.

💗 Please wait to hear from your local centre on how they will support you with your membership questions, as you can imagine we will be very busy at this time and will be doing our utmost to manage this situation as efficiently as possible so kindly bear with us

💗 The safety of you, our members, your little ones, and our staff continues to be our number one priority.

🙏🏼 Thank you for choosing Gymboree Play & Music and for your continued support. Once the time is right we will welcome you back with ooodles of bubbles and three BIG Gymbo cheers!

    Stay safe and healthy.

Please note the guidance for our Scotland centres is different but they will be in touch if anything is altering with your membership at any time.

  • Help us to keep you safe

    30. September 2020
    Play Policies diagram

With all of our centres finally open (hooray!), we want to thank you again for your support over Lockdown and now.  It’s been a very difficult time, and will continue to be for a while to come, so we’re extremely grateful to have many of you back in class.

We just want to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the new Play Policies put in place to keep our teams and members safe.  We have only been allowed to open by the powers-that-be because we’ve put these policies in place, ensuring a Covid-secure environment for your classes.  Therefore it’s vital that everyone follows the rules and allows our teams the time and space to manage the increased admin and cleaning. Please help us to keep you safe.

We know it feels a little bit different in class at the moment, we know some of you would rather not wear face coverings, and we know you miss Gymbo stamps and kisses, and seeing your little ones play closely with their friends; but to keep us all safe this is the way it must be for the time being. In order to keep your classes running in our Covid-secure venues you may also see an increase in your membership price.

Most importantly please can we remind you not to come to class if you or your little one are unwell or have any of the main symptoms:

    • a high temperature
    • a new, continuous cough
    • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

We have a generous make-up policy and you’ll be able to come back to class when you’re both better.

Of course, if you’d rather not come back to class right now with these policies in place, that is also fine.  We will welcome you back with open arms when you feel ready.

Thank you again for helping us to keep you safe!

Birth & Babies Appeal

We’ve teamed up with the much-talked about and fantastic local charity Birth & Babies Appeal as they aim to raise £200,000 to develop an entirely mid-wifery led unit as part of Warwick Hospital; enabling expectant parents to have their babies in a comfortable, relaxed, homely environment rather than a more clinical setting.

The MLU will have 4 birthing rooms each with ensuite facilities, a family snug, kitchenette, dining room, 1 therapy room and a triage assessment room.

And…it’s been an AMAZING summer; with our baby/toddler parties, MushUp event and sock sales, raising a total of over £450 and, of course, the The Wolf Run in September, we have now raised a combined total of over £1,100 and counting. #Woop!

That’s right, this year we’re celebrating Gymbo’s 40th birthday, which means that Gymboree have successfully been leading the world with our unique, fun-packed, award-winning child development programme for 40 wonderful years!

Plus, we’re also celebrating our fabulous bubble’s, that are quite literally ‘the best bubbles in town!’ by running a mega Bubble-A-Thon on Saturday 2nd April at 11am @ The Family Tree Members Club in Leamington Spa.

Kicking off at 11am, they’ll be music, instruments, props, balls, toys and continuous bubbles for a whopping 45 minutes!!

All of this in the aid of raising money, along with Nikki Francis of Mum Knows Best Warwickshire, to buy some much needed chairs that fold out into beds. These will be donated to Warwick hospital post-natal ward so that fathers can provide essential overnight support after labour and hopefully reduce the chances of post-natal depression in new mothers.

For all further info just CLICK HERE.

Do something special on 2nd April and come and join in the FUN!

****Great news**** Huge congratulations to everyone involved and all who came…WE DID IT!

What IS Play and Learn?

Play and Learn is Gymboree’s signature, physical and cognitive child development programme; offering a wide range of classes for little ones aged 0 – 5 years. Each class is structured and teacher-led, with themes and activities designed to support the healthy growth of children throughout those early developmental stages.

Each theme is developmentally appropriate according to that age group, with each class an exciting fun-filled, active and musical adventure, and all of this with the help of our amazing purpose-built equipment and props. Fun to be had by all!

How does membership work?

Everyone is entitled to one free trial, to see how you get on in the session and whether its right for you and your little one. There is absolutely no obligation to pay.

Should you wish to join us after your free trial, you will be asked to sign our Membership Agreement Form, which states that we ask you to sign up for a minimum of only 2 months, with a 1 month cancellation policy; notifying us of your request to cancel your membership in writing (preferably email). It’s as easy as that!

How do I pay for classes?

Once your Membership Agreement Form has been signed, you will need to fill in a card details form so that we can set up your direct debit on GoCardless.

Once everything goes through, you will get a confirmation email and your place is secured!

Membership is on a rolling contract of either £32 for Sensory Baby Play class or £36 for Play and Learn – Levels 2 to 6. This allows you one teacher-led class per week and unlimited access to our optional Open Gym sessions, which are completely free of charge.

Do you offer Pay As You Go?

Unfortunately not, access to classes and our free play ‘Open Gym’ sessions are by membership only, which is on a monthly rolling contract, by direct debit.

Do I have to be a member of The Family Tree in order to attend classes?

No, there is no obligation for you to be a member of The Family Tree Members Club, in order to attend our sessions. Both us, Gymboree Play & Music and The Family Tree operate as completely separate businesses, however, we do offer a joint membership, whereby monthly fees on both sides are discounted. You will need to be a member of The Family Tree prior to joining us, in order to be eligible for a joint membership discounted rate.

Do you offer any discounts?

Yes, we offer a number of discounts for members, from 50% off sibling/twin discounts to 2nd class discounts; all the details of which are available on our NEW Autumn Timetable & Pricing 2020, just scroll down to the bottom right hand corner.

There is no obligation to attend these sessions nor is there any extra charge, should you attend. Its simply a nice added bonus to being a member with us!

You can do as much or as little as you wish, every week.

What if I can’t attend a session?

At Gymboree, we offer you the chance to make-up any number of sessions you miss, for whatever reason, free of charge! There is no limit to when these sessions have to be made up, giving you the flexibility you need. The very nature of our ethos is to fit in with a parent’s busy and demanding lifestyle – as much possible.

Where do I park?

There is strictly no on-site car parking, as this is reserved for Family Tree members only. There is, however, limited on-street car parking directly outside the venue but we highly recommend using the below car parks, all within easy walking distance of the venue:

The Royal Priors Car Park (3 mins walk from our site)

Chandos Street Car Park (3 mins walk from our site)

What do I do with my buggy?

We have our own secure buggy shelter located at the very back end of the small car park (to the right of The Family Tree), that is to be used by Gymboree Warwick & Leamington Spa members only.

Buggy locks are available at the main desk and a member of staff will be on standby to assist, should you need any help.

There is also a clearly marked pedestrianised walkway leading you to and from the buggy shelter, to ensure safety for our members when walking through the car park.

Due to health and safety, buggies are not to be left in the main entrance when entering the building.

What do I need to do if I want to book a free trial?

All you have to do is click on this link:

…and fill out the form. Once completed and sent through to us, we will respond within 24 hours letting you know your trial is either booked in or whether you may need to book the same class but on a different day/time due to classes being fully booked.

What people are saying…

***** ‘Of all of the baby/toddler classes we’ve tried over the last 2.5 years… Gymboree is our favourite, without a doubt! I now take both of my little ones (aged 2.5 & 1) and they are both totally mesmerised and we sing the songs at home all week!’

***** ‘I’m so glad I attended this music class today with Anabella, she had so much fun and couldn’t get enough of the bubbles, I feel this class is important for her development and in a different league to all the others! I as a parent even found myself having fun and mingling with the others!! Can’t wait to come back! Thanks Gymboree!’

***** My son Linc didn’t like any baby class until Gymboree! It seemed to have the right amount of stimulus. The first time we went was the free tester session and we. Haven’t looked back since. He is 2 in June and stilling getting as much from the class as he did when he was tiny. I couldn’t recommend you guys enough. In fact I encourage my friends and clients of mine with little people give it a go. Kelsey and Natalie are the perfect team and know how to interact with every individual child. Even down to remembering names to saying hi to Linc and asking how his weekend has been each time (even though he can’t talk) it’s the little things that count. Oh and not forgetting the stickers at the end ???. Going to Gymboree every week is so lovely – also other patents (mommys and/or daddy’s) reflect the family feel to what you have both created. I just wanted to say thanks! See you tomorrow ??Libby and Linc!’

***** ‘Gymboree is definitely my little boy’s (and my!) favourite class. Each week we have loads of fun exploring different sounds, rhythms and instruments. Kelsey is fantastic, amazingly enthusiastic and captures the attention of all the babies (and mums!), drawing them in to each week’s musical adventure. The class has even passed the ‘Dad test’, with Daddy very much enjoying the session he attended. Oh, and easily the best bubbles in town!’

***** ‘My mother in law came along last week and thinks Kelsey is exceptional and the best baby music teachers she’s seen (she’s a retired early years teacher) x’

***** ‘Gymboree is the best class we’ve done by far….and I’ve done a few with 4 children! Kelsey is amazing with the babies, the look on their faces each week is just amazing, he has them all mesmerised.’

***** ‘Gymboree is the best class we’ve done by far….and I’ve done a few with 4 children! Kelsey is amazing with the babies, the look on their faces each week is just amazing, he has them all mesmerised. He is so energetic and eccentric and obviously loves his job. We look forward to every class. You can just imagine Kelsey having his own TVs programme on CBeebies. It would be a hit.’

***** ‘Kelsey and the team and Gymboree Leamington are fantabulous!! My little boy and I tried lots of classes before becoming members here and this is by far and away the best class, best value and environment of them all. We love it. Were about to move house 35 mins away but were keeping our membership as we love it so much. There are different themes every two weeks which keeps it interesting and the accoustics in the room are amazing which seems to enthrawl all of the babies without exception!!’

***** ‘We have been visiting Gymbo for well over a year now. Lottie loves it and it is one of the highlights of our week. Gymboree has been so valuable in building on Lottie’s confidence, climbing, coordination, problem solving and interpersonal skills. It is a brilliant class to help with so many development aspects and it is FUN for both little ones as well as parents. Kelsey, Natalie and Amie are true professionals have created a warm atmosphere of learning and trust.’

***** ‘My Son and his group of friends just love Gymboree with Kelsey, Natalie and Amie at the Leamington branch. As he gets older the lessons develop with him and he is always learning whilst having fun at the same time. I also love the fact that every couple of weeks the layout changes round so it’s always different and interesting. I would definitely recommend.’

***** ‘Absolutely fantastic class for active little ones. Engaging and purposeful activities balanced perfectly with allowing the babies to explore the equipment in their own time. The class instructors are super friendly and very high energy. Definitely worth every penny!’

Gymbo TV is a fun-packed, magical and musical learning experience that you can explore from the comfort of your homes. We have created a private Facebook group for paying customers only, where we will provide daily interactive classes, games, storybook readings and more! Suitable for all ages from 0-5 years!

We will be posting videos daily each lasting between 10-25 minutes each – the perfect length to get your little ones focused physically, socially and cognitively!

Each session will be full of song and dance, puppetry, reading and movement games – you can easily join in the fun by using props or toys/instruments found in the home.

Gymbo TV is only £20 per month – you can cancel anytime!
