  • Help us to keep you safe

    30. September 2020
    Play Policies diagram

With all of our centres finally open (hooray!), we want to thank you again for your support over Lockdown and now.  It’s been a very difficult time, and will continue to be for a while to come, so we’re extremely grateful to have many of you back in class.

We just want to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the new Play Policies put in place to keep our teams and members safe.  We have only been allowed to open by the powers-that-be because we’ve put these policies in place, ensuring a Covid-secure environment for your classes.  Therefore it’s vital that everyone follows the rules and allows our teams the time and space to manage the increased admin and cleaning. Please help us to keep you safe.

We know it feels a little bit different in class at the moment, we know some of you would rather not wear face coverings, and we know you miss Gymbo stamps and kisses, and seeing your little ones play closely with their friends; but to keep us all safe this is the way it must be for the time being. In order to keep your classes running in our Covid-secure venues you may also see an increase in your membership price.

Most importantly please can we remind you not to come to class if you or your little one are unwell or have any of the main symptoms:

    • a high temperature
    • a new, continuous cough
    • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

We have a generous make-up policy and you’ll be able to come back to class when you’re both better.

Of course, if you’d rather not come back to class right now with these policies in place, that is also fine.  We will welcome you back with open arms when you feel ready.

Thank you again for helping us to keep you safe!

  • We’re Back!

    14. August 2020

It’s been such a long time, but after what seems like months and months, we’re back!  But we’re coming back slowly and carefully.Infection control training certificate

Each of our centres has been going through a very thorough process of risk assessments, training, rearranging, planning, cleaning, and general hoop-jumping to get ready for this very exciting time. We were not going to re-open until we were sure we could keep our members and teams safe whilst still providing you with the classes that you love.

As a result, we have redesigned our Play Policies to make sure our centres are ‘covid-secure’ so expect to see one-way systems, thermometers, hand sanitiser, face coverings, smaller classes, fewer props, ‘bubbled’ classes, and lots of cleaning!

Furthermore all of our centre owners have completed Infection Control for Children’s Activities Providers training designed by the Children’s Activities Association and Mini First Aid Feel free to ask to see their certificate!

But we’re finally here!  A few of our centres have re-opened already and many more will be opening in the coming weeks.

Whether you’re already a member or new to the Gymboree Play & Music family, get in touch with your local centre now to find out when they’re opening, and book your place.

We’d love to see you very soon 🥰🙏

  • Our new normal

    29. July 2020
picture of girl getting the venue ready

As some of our branches get the final nod to open their doors we need to outline what the ‘new normal’ will look like at Gymboree Play & Music.

Making sure our customers and staff are safe in a post Covid-19 world is the most important part of this process for us and as such we’ve had to make some changes.  Specifics may change slightly depending on which Gymboree Play & Music you visit, but these new Play Policies will be followed by all.

    • We may have to adapt the timetable to allow for fewer classes and more time in between. Check with your local Gymboree Play & Music for class times.
    • We have reduced the sizes of all classes.
    • We ask you to stick with the same class/es each week for the foreseeable future so we can limit the interaction of households.
    • Please wait outside whilst previous members leave and cleaning is completed. You will need to respect social distancing rules whilst you queue.
    • There will be a one way system in and out of the venue.
    • Everyone will have their temperature taken when they arrive.  Anyone with a high temperature will not be allowed in to class and will have to follow the Government guidance for self isolation.
    • All children and adults will have to wash their hands on arrival and at the end of class.
    • All adults must wear clean socks.
    • No mobile phone use in class to ensure you can commit to social distancing.
    • All adults will need to wear face coverings, our teachers will wear appropriate PPE.
    • Social distancing rules must be adhered to during the class, it is your responsibility to keep your child within an arm’s reach at all times.
    • There will be a longer than usual 30 minute slot between all classes to allow for increased cleaning measures during which time you will not be allowed inside.
    • We will be singing less in class and will use quiet recorded music instead to ensure no raised voices.
    • You will not be able to share toys between households, they will be allocated on arrival.
    • You will need to commit to the same class/es each week to allow us to maintain class bubbles as much as possible.
    • We will adapt all classes to exclude:
      • Gymbo stamps
      • Gymbo kisses
      • Some toys and props
      • Blowing bubbles by mouth

We hope you understand the need for a ‘new normal’ in these times and we assure you our classes will still be lots of fun with social, cognitive and physical development goals at their heart! Have a look at the video on our homepage to see how it will all look.

Thank you for your understanding 🙏❤

  • We’re getting ready to re-open!

    15. June 2020
    image of child getting ready

UPDATE: Further to Boris’ announcement on 23rd June, we are still waiting for a date to open.  No Gymboree Play & Music sites will open on the 4th July and we will provide further information about opening as soon as we can.

We hope you and your families have been keeping well during these difficult times. At Gymboree Play & Music, we are obviously concerned about the spread of COVID-19 and have been watching the Government and industry guidance closely. For over 43 years, we have been providing world class programmes for children, and your continued trust in our brand is a priority. As such, following current Government guidelines, we are working on opening some of our sites from 4th July 2020, however this is subject to change.

We have upgraded our cleaning procedures in all of our locations beyond our already stringent practices. We ask you to help us by:

    • washing you and your little ones’ hands before and after class
    • staying home if sick or not feeling well
    • monitoring anything that has been placed in your child’s mouth
    • respecting social distancing
    • wearing a face covering during class (adults only)

    Further to these increased hygiene policies, we’re also changing our teaching activities;

    • we’ve removed some props from the classroom
    • instrument exploration, tactile table, play dough and other direct contact activities have been removed
    • we are spraying down our crayons with alcohol
    • no Gymbo kisses or Gymbo stamps.

While we can’t eliminate all potential exposures, we can keep our sites clean and limit your exposure while enjoying our classes. Our families have trusted us for decades for our cleaning standards and excellent programming and we are continuing this legacy of trust.

We want to make sure that your children have a proper allotted time for physical, emotional and cognitive growth all year round, and as such we have a flexible make up policy so please can we ask that you only attend class when you and your children are healthy.

At Gymboree Play & Music, we want our families to STAY HEALTHY and PLAY HEALTHY now and throughout the year!

Please do get in touch with your local branch to discuss their re-opening plans and reserve a space in their classes.

Birth & Babies Appeal

We’ve teamed up with the much-talked about and fantastic local charity Birth & Babies Appeal as they aim to raise £200,000 to develop an entirely mid-wifery led unit as part of Warwick Hospital; enabling expectant parents to have their babies in a comfortable, relaxed, homely environment rather than a more clinical setting.

The MLU will have 4 birthing rooms each with ensuite facilities, a family snug, kitchenette, dining room, 1 therapy room and a triage assessment room.

And…it’s been an AMAZING summer; with our baby/toddler parties, MushUp event and sock sales, raising a total of over £450 and, of course, the The Wolf Run in September, we have now raised a combined total of over £1,100 and counting. #Woop!

Click HERE and head to our JustGiving page to continue supporting this fantastic local cause.

That’s right, this year we’re celebrating Gymbo’s 40th birthday, which means that Gymboree have successfully been leading the world with our unique, fun-packed, award-winning child development programme for 40 wonderful years!

Plus, we’re also celebrating our fabulous bubble’s, that are quite literally ‘the best bubbles in town!’ by running a mega Bubble-A-Thon on Saturday 2nd April at 11am @ The Family Tree Members Club in Leamington Spa.

Kicking off at 11am, they’ll be music, instruments, props, balls, toys and continuous bubbles for a whopping 45 minutes!!

All of this in the aid of raising money, along with Nikki Francis of Mum Knows Best Warwickshire, to buy some much needed chairs that fold out into beds. These will be donated to Warwick hospital post-natal ward so that fathers can provide essential overnight support after labour and hopefully reduce the chances of post-natal depression in new mothers.

For all further info just CLICK HERE.

Do something special on 2nd April and come and join in the FUN!

****Great news**** Huge congratulations to everyone involved and all who came…WE DID IT!

What IS Play and Learn?

Play and Learn is Gymboree’s signature, physical and cognitive child development programme; offering a wide range of classes for little ones aged 0 – 5 years. Each class is structured and teacher-led, with themes and activities designed to support the healthy growth of children throughout those early developmental stages.

Each theme is developmentally appropriate according to that age group, with each class an exciting fun-filled, active and musical adventure, and all of this with the help of our amazing purpose-built equipment and props. Fun to be had by all!

Everyone is entitled to one free trial, to see how you get on in the session and whether its right for you and your little one. There is absolutely no obligation to pay.

Should you wish to join us after your free trial, you will be asked to sign our Membership Agreement Form, which states that we ask you to sign up for a minimum of only 2 months, with a 1 month cancellation policy; notifying us of your request to cancel your membership in writing (preferably email). It’s as easy as that!

As members, you will have unlimited access of up to 9 hours and 45 mins p/w of Open Gym sessions, dotted about on various days and times throughout each week; allowing you free play with the use of our specialised props and patented apparatus. There is no obligation to attend these sessions nor is there any extra charge, should you attend. Its simply a nice added bonus to being a member with us!

You can do as much or as little as you wish, every week.

What if I can’t attend a session?

At Gymboree, we offer you the chance to make-up any number of sessions you miss, for whatever reason, free of charge! There is no limit to when these sessions have to be made up, giving you the flexibility you need. The very nature of our ethos is to fit in with a parent’s busy and demanding lifestyle – as much possible.

Where do I park?

There is strictly no on-site car parking, as this is reserved for Family Tree members only. There is, however, limited on-street car parking directly outside the venue but we highly recommend using the below car parks, all within easy walking distance of the venue:

The Royal Priors Car Park (3 mins walk from our site)

Chandos Street Car Park (3 mins walk from our site)

What do I do with my buggy?

We have our own secure buggy shelter located at the very back end of the small car park (to the right of The Family Tree), that is to be used by Gymboree Warwick & Leamington Spa members only.

Buggy locks are available at the main desk and a member of staff will be on standby to assist, should you need any help.

There is also a clearly marked pedestrianised walkway leading you to and from the buggy shelter, to ensure safety for our members when walking through the car park.

Due to health and safety, buggies are not to be left in the main entrance when entering the building.

What people are saying…

***** ‘Of all of the baby/toddler classes we’ve tried over the last 2.5 years… Gymboree is our favourite, without a doubt! I now take both of my little ones (aged 2.5 & 1) and they are both totally mesmerised and we sing the songs at home all week!’

***** ‘I’m so glad I attended this music class today with Anabella, she had so much fun and couldn’t get enough of the bubbles, I feel this class is important for her development and in a different league to all the others! I as a parent even found myself having fun and mingling with the others!! Can’t wait to come back! Thanks Gymboree!’

***** My son Linc didn’t like any baby class until Gymboree! It seemed to have the right amount of stimulus. The first time we went was the free tester session and we. Haven’t looked back since. He is 2 in June and stilling getting as much from the class as he did when he was tiny. I couldn’t recommend you guys enough. In fact I encourage my friends and clients of mine with little people give it a go. Kelsey and Natalie are the perfect team and know how to interact with every individual child. Even down to remembering names to saying hi to Linc and asking how his weekend has been each time (even though he can’t talk) it’s the little things that count. Oh and not forgetting the stickers at the end ???. Going to Gymboree every week is so lovely – also other patents (mommys and/or daddy’s) reflect the family feel to what you have both created. I just wanted to say thanks! See you tomorrow ??Libby and Linc!’

***** ‘Gymboree is definitely my little boy’s (and my!) favourite class. Each week we have loads of fun exploring different sounds, rhythms and instruments. Kelsey is fantastic, amazingly enthusiastic and captures the attention of all the babies (and mums!), drawing them in to each week’s musical adventure. The class has even passed the ‘Dad test’, with Daddy very much enjoying the session he attended. Oh, and easily the best bubbles in town!’

***** ‘My mother in law came along last week and thinks Kelsey is exceptional and the best baby music teachers she’s seen (she’s a retired early years teacher) x’

***** ‘Gymboree is the best class we’ve done by far….and I’ve done a few with 4 children! Kelsey is amazing with the babies, the look on their faces each week is just amazing, he has them all mesmerised.’

***** ‘Gymboree is the best class we’ve done by far….and I’ve done a few with 4 children! Kelsey is amazing with the babies, the look on their faces each week is just amazing, he has them all mesmerised. He is so energetic and eccentric and obviously loves his job. We look forward to every class. You can just imagine Kelsey having his own TVs programme on CBeebies. It would be a hit.’

***** ‘Kelsey and the team and Gymboree Leamington are fantabulous!! My little boy and I tried lots of classes before becoming members here and this is by far and away the best class, best value and environment of them all. We love it. Were about to move house 35 mins away but were keeping our membership as we love it so much. There are different themes every two weeks which keeps it interesting and the accoustics in the room are amazing which seems to enthrawl all of the babies without exception!!’

***** ‘We have been visiting Gymbo for well over a year now. Lottie loves it and it is one of the highlights of our week. Gymboree has been so valuable in building on Lottie’s confidence, climbing, coordination, problem solving and interpersonal skills. It is a brilliant class to help with so many development aspects and it is FUN for both little ones as well as parents. Kelsey, Natalie and Amie are true professionals have created a warm atmosphere of learning and trust.’

***** ‘My Son and his group of friends just love Gymboree with Kelsey, Natalie and Amie at the Leamington branch. As he gets older the lessons develop with him and he is always learning whilst having fun at the same time. I also love the fact that every couple of weeks the layout changes round so it’s always different and interesting. I would definitely recommend.’

***** ‘Absolutely fantastic class for active little ones. Engaging and purposeful activities balanced perfectly with allowing the babies to explore the equipment in their own time. The class instructors are super friendly and very high energy. Definitely worth every penny!’
